EPA Research Call 2026

The EPA Research Call 2026 is now open for applications, with €10.5m in research funding available to support innovative solutions to address medium- to longer-term environmental research needs.

Themes in the EPA Research Call 2026 - Nine topic projects under five themes 

  1. Cross-cutting Theme: Policy Implementation, Effective Regulation and Innovative Governance Models € 330,000
  2. Addressing Climate Change Evidence Needs: Bringing Mitigation and Adaptation Together € 660,000 and Improving Cross-Sectoral Governance in Climate Adaptation € 660,000
  3. Delivering a Healthy Environment: Environmental Transmission of Antimicrobial Resistance in a One Health Context € 660,000 and Strengthening the Environmental Dimension of One Health in a Changing Climate € 660,000
  4. Facilitating a Green and Circular Economy: Enabling Material Flows for Sustainability Through Economic, Regulatory and Enforcement Measures € 330,000 and Designing Innovative Sustainable Value Chains and Managing Materials € 660,000
  5. Protecting and Restoring our Natural Environment: Integrating Nature into Decision-Making: Accelerating Infrastructure and Simplifying Regulation € 330,000 and Knowledge and Evidence to Support Soil Health – Peat and Peatland Regulation € 660,000
